How to install .mcaddon files on every device

Install Minecraft Bedrock add-ons from .mcaddon files on Windows, iOS, Android, and consoles.

7 minute read

Windows

Double-click the .mcaddon. Minecraft Bedrock opens and imports the packs. Create or edit a world, activate both the resource pack and the behavior pack, then load the world.

iOS and iPadOS

Open the .mcaddon in Files or from a download notification and choose Minecraft. After import, enable the packs on the world. iCloud Drive works if the file is stored there.

Android

Tap the downloaded .mcaddon and open it with Minecraft. If Android asks for a handler, pick Minecraft — not a zip app — so the game registers the pack.

Consoles and Bedrock Realms

Console stores often restrict arbitrary add-ons. You can still build and sell packs here for Windows, mobile, and realm owners who import from a PC. Always note the supported Minecraft version (Blocksmith defaults to 1.21) in your marketplace listing.

Put this into practice — paint a custom item and export a .mcaddon.
